Life habits

What makes you feel nostalgic?

Every time I return near my old house, in Milan I feel nostalgic.

The streets where I walked going to school.

The smell of the tracks at the tram stop and…the pleasure of getting to know the city, moving naturally as if it were an extension of one’s home.

The coloured lights of the night who welcomed me on the ring road upon returning from a trip..

This is only the frame, also a little thin, of the environment in which I lived for many years.

I like getting lost in memories and to be the storyteller of my family too.

In these moments, during the Christmas holidays, those somewhat repetitive traditions of making the tree, get up early to open presents and prepare the table to eat together, have become values of nostalgic feelings.

Many years ago, I wrote a song that said:

My town today, today is beautiful

In my mind, in my heart, I remember like one time.

During the day, many voices and faces

During the night, lights and silence only

It’s soul is indifferent

and people go for own way, yesterday like today,

If it’s time is good or bad, is my town and It’s beautiful.
