Nowadays it’s difficult to speak of patriotism.
In the XIX century, the feeling of equality and social justice were more than good ideas, patriotic movements were born to support workers classes.
Then, in Italy was created a healthcare, which was envied throughout the world; public healthcare for all.
The pension system was a useful idea to give a peaceful and dignified live.
After the 1950s it begins to guarantee education for all, fighting illiteracy.
The Italian state, effectively gave opportunities to have welfare for families; I am daughter of that well-being🙂, but…
Since the end of ’90th we felt difficulty to work and difficulty to have a good idea of the future. It remains only the memory of a state that supports citizens, always more in difficulty in everyday life.
“Frecce tricolori” are still symbol of national pride, all over the world; the sky of the picture, in which they move is full of clouds… not clear like the italian state, and “it’s often hail, that reaches us”.🌨️
So, that meaning on the dictionary of patriotism as feeling of love, first of all for the citizens, I say; obedience🤔 to the citizen needs, and devotion it depends, if you go to look for the past wars, the devotion would be better didn’t exist, I prefer to keep my critical spirit high.
Patriotic why? Because I like the beautiful territory of Italia, the nature, monuments, the enormity of culture that is known in the world of which everyone falls in love and try to copy. And for the rest…
