Without water there isn’t life. These two molecules of hydrogen related to one of oxygen create the best drink.
Water is a solvent, helps our digestion, give us minerals and salts. Is an important part of our body… It also has a memory that in energy works is used to make healthy treatments: chromoterapy loading the water of colors, Bach flowers,
I like to drink water in many way, surely at room temperature or a little warm, making infusions of ginger or mallow , especially at night, after dinner. In these days, beet juice with lemon, diluted in water is my favourite drink.
Don’t take me as a too healthy…I am more! In fact I also like to drink a good glass of wine, better red that is an optimum anti-inflammatory and antioxidant for its tannins and quercetin.
Red Wine
Speaking of which… Wine contain about from 75% to 90% of water!
Hibiscus Sabdariffa is the name of the flower that, when is dried up, becomes karkadé. It belongs to the Malvacee family and is originary from Abissinia, for this, it is also known as “tea of Abissinia”.
Karkadé is an excellent drink, rich in vitamin C, ideal for drinking during summer.
This drink isn’t just thirst-quenching, but it’s a real panacea! Beyond vitamin C, contain Iron, vitamin B6 and B 12, magnesium, calcium and vitamin D, with beta carotenoid the picture is completed in a really healthy drink.
When we need a natural anti-inflammatory, to fight a cold to maintain a good cerebral health and keep immunitary defenses up, karkadé is good hot, in water infusion for about 8 minutes or is possible put it in a bottle of cold water waiting to see it become of an intense color red.
I like very much this flower, in fact at my parents home in Milan we had always on our balcony; the best are red or yellow with brilliant colors😀.
In Portugal, Algarve has very large plants of Ibiscus… This plants needs hot and light to grow well! I think is not the same specie to make karkadé but it’s healthy even just looking at it, elements of nature are miraculous.🌺
I made this pizza just a week ago. Like a “pugliese” with onions.
Recipe: wheat flour + salt + fresh brewer’s yeast + mozzarella + tomato sauce+ onions + my secret ingredients which I say just for you😃… Ginger and coriander.
And to cook it 🤔, in motorhome I don’t have oven, so I used a pan with lid, naturally with over low heat.👩🍳
When I’m walking in the woods, I always observe the nature around.
In this moment we live in Santiago do Caçem, one of the most nice city in alentejo, a south region of Portugal.
Santiago, anciently called Mirobriga, from its first habitants, the Celts, is a beautiful city surrounded by greenery, ideal for who, like me, loves natural habitats. where make walking.
Serra do Conde do Aviles
After Celts, the ancient Romans arrived on the territory and with them, the green culture was strenghten.
Here there are hills, a little like Rome…🤔 It can be they chose this territory because remembered them Rome??? Boh.
However, every hill is full of trees, typical of Mediterranean bush ( even thought we’re in west Portugal, on Atlantic Ocean), and one of these is Laurel.
Laurel, Lauracee family.
Laurel is an aromatic plant, usually used for cooking fish and meat; it gives a good taste to the dishes and also has healthy properties: astringent, diuretic, digestive, antiinflammatory.
It contains vitamin C, potassium, caffeic acid which lowers bad cholesterol and rutina for the proper functioning of the capillaries.
After I collect it, let it dry in a paper bag, and then, I put it in a glass jar and I use it to make infusions too.😄

Before the practice of agricolture, the man gathered food directly by the nature.
Taraxacum officinalis
When I walk on mountain or I am in the middle of a meadow, my eyes look always for a some sort of plant…it’s a mental deformation🙃because until when I was a child my mom taught me to recognize commestibile plants , Just like my grandmother did with her., Is a tradiction.
But in this century we don’t need to know wild plants, we have all the food we want from supermarket, why🤔 takes up wild plants?
The food from supermarket Is an industrial product: intensive coltivations, need to use substances to grow big and many despect to season, territory, climate…today food Is expensive but we can have Always in every season!
Wild plants are in the grasses, to take up needs of some fatigue and walking but Is special staying to contact of nature and these plants are much rich of nutrients and more I eat fastly after I took up and much more are healthy.
Gathered food directly from the nature Is called Alimurgic diet.
Almonds
Someone of these plants to take up Is taraxacum officinalis, ortica dioica, blackberries, raspberries, horsetail silica, blueberries…and slurp these are some of those I take up .
Raspberries
It’s important to learn about them! many plants in the nature are poisonous😮. If you aren’t sure, don’t take up!don’t eat!😉
It’s important too to be sure of the soil where Is growing the plant! Because vegetables to grow absorb the substances that also cannot be good for out healthy as heavy metals likes lead or others.
However it’s a big satisfaction go around the nature discovering all it’s richness.
